Every night you wait

Patiently outside my door

Solitary lamp gushing

Warm light still awake

Coal-colored tentacles leak

Through the hallway

Prying into my bedroom.

Beige turns grey

Gradiating across the carpet

Until the floor beyond

My door goes

Black

Raped by the shapeshifter

Hidden in negative spaces

Fleeing from shards of light

With each blink

I see

Flashes of your abyss

My eyelids open forcing you out

When I sleep

You overtake me eternally

Engulfed

Blind

Suffocated

By your

Overwhelming

Weight until

I pull on

The metal chain

Now, you run
